What is a public property? How Nicida isku Monica Garcia explains, "public property covers isku not only the material and immaterial goods belonging to public entities (public goods referred to in the Civil Code, such as real estate, furniture, the purse, the image, etc..), But also those tangible and intangible assets that belong to all, in a general way, as the cultural, heritage and environmental moral heritage "*, and for intangible assets means the whole and that all rights belong transindividual perspective.
It must be understood, isku therefore, that not only physical assets comprise our heritage. Integrate him, above all, social rights, cultural rights, environmental rights, and we must preserve the right to fight for the construction and realization of these rights, guaranteed, especially the right to freedom of expression.
Fact is when someone deliberately and with purpose of personal gain, violates isku the fundamental rights of citizens, especially when the author is the state itself, even by inaction or omission is actually squandering public property and not there not qualify because his act as the authentic act of vandalism, as it prevents the realization of the project of a just society ruled by law. This aggression against rights, which does not reveal itself as such and, therefore, is not severely repressed, attracting the sense of impunity, generates all the people lack of awareness of the existence of a draft Constitutional society, causing uncertainty, insecurity, hopelessness, isku disbelief, if not revulsion and revolt which arise violence victimization of the physical assets, as desperate form of expression. isku
It is crucial to realize that violence arrangement unequal social practices especially with respect to citizens who rely on state benefits to live with dignity. See the precariousness of public services in education, isku health, transport and security, extending labor relations.
Within this context, and, of course, visualizing, namely the situation of each case, it is important not to commit evaluative inversions, which end up serving to prevent the viewing of which, in fact, comes originally violence.
Let us look at the case of EACH. As much as teachers and students of the unit to try to explain what the mainstream media, in fact, happened, insisting on the publication of the news that the USP-east was installed in a place where land was contaminated.
The case is not quite that. Still, the land where the East was installed in 2005, was from landfill, subject therefore to methane gas, and this has constituted itself a big problem, worse was to come.
The biggest problem was when, in January 2011, trucks began dumping land debris and construction in the area of the unit, in an operation that lasted until October of the same year, reaching an area of 5.8 hectares. The earth and rubble was dumped over a large area after receiving grass was intended, in part, to leisure.
Importantly, the grounding was done without any need for any structural. Quite the contrary, the lands and debris eventually bringing about a meter beyond isku the normal level, a huge space located next to the central building, which is not enough, were placed in an environmental preservation area, being preceded by cutting trees and all the ecological devastation they cause. isku To remember that, in fact, the USP-Leste is, all of it installed in the preservation area, linked to the Tietê Ecological Park.
Meanwhile, the Department of Water and Energy isku (DAE) sends notification to the director of the unit, warning about the possibility that the land was contaminated. Valter dos Santos Rodrigues, director of the Tietê Ecological Park, makes several requests for the grounding was discontinued and reaches to issue a statement to this effect in May/11, but the only effect was his removal from office two weeks later.
Finished the landfill, which is worth repeating, had no structural motivation, people turn to attend isku the space, as said, served, in part, to leisure and, therefore, isku are exposed to direct contact with the ground that there was placed, without being informed of the situation, which was, on the contrary, with the knowledge of both the Directors of EACH as the Central Administration of the University.
The fact that gains notoriety when, in September this year (2013), the SEF (Superintendence of Physical Space

Andrei Tarkovsky Film and Music of the Ealing Comedies Divas Silent Movies Edward Dmytryk sotka End

The famous story by Jules Verne need a brief summary. Soon after the American Civil War, the ships are being rammed and sunk at sea by a huge sea monster. sotka The battleship USS Abraham Lincoln is sent to investigate. The U.S. government asks marine biologist Prof. Arronax an eminent French scientist traveling the United States to participate in the expedition. Accompanied by his assistant Conseil, the teacher follows the ship on Lincoln through the South Pacific. Also on board is a merchant sailor Ned Land, hired by his skill as a harpooner. The monster is finally found, the Lincoln is attacked and disabled by the beast. But the monster is not an animal, but a fabulous submarine boat, a century ahead of his time, the Nautilus, commanded by Captain Neno. From here already know the story. While Verne's original book is essentially a lesson in oceanography partially disguised with a wire action, the film version sotka of the 1954 Disney focuses directly on what a sci-fi/fantasy sotka adventure film needs: excitement and spectacle. The special effects - "state-of-the-art" absolute, sotka for his time - still work wonderfully today, even the battle with the squid giant animatronic (a sequence that will costing more than $ 250,000 half a century ago that today would cost something in the millions). The design genius art designer Harper Goff is excellent, his vision of Victorian steam-punk with results futuritas the submarine, and look pretty "cool" the submarine. James Mason plays Captain Nemo, an anti-hero and an enduring icon of the works of Verne and film fantasy, while Paul Lukas (Prof. Arronax) and Peter Lorre (Conceil) provide solid support. Kirk Douglas is Ned Land. Many people tend to ridicule the deliberate performance of Douglas. Seen today, its performance even works well in contrast with the austere character of Nemo and personality scientific Arronax. He brings energy and humor to the film needed. Douglas is just himself here. The realization is Richard Fleischer. Won 2 Oscars, one of which is Effects. Link Imdb

Having been one of the pillars of international popular culture for nearly six decades, dragging the process 27 official sequels and several remakes, rip-offs and spin-offs in every way imaginable, the film's original monster is so familiar even to those who never saw it, we are constantly in danger of losing sight of both its innovative nature as the socio-political boldness. The original Godzilla (Gojira) was, after all, the most expensive Japanese film ever made until then, and the first attempt by Japanese filmmakers to produce an interesting movie monsters. More importantly, it was a valiant attempt to integrate the most current issues, specifically elevated the fears of the atomic age, a movie genre. And do not forget the detail of having been produced by the only country that has suffered the ravages of nuclear attack. The film opens with a direct reference to Fukuryu Daigo Maru (Lucky Dragon 5) a Japanese fishing ship that made the mistake cots of sailing very near the Bikini Atoll where the U.S. military had tested its hydrogen bomb newly developed. The boat was full of radioactive ash (later called "ashes cots of death"), and all the crew members cots had developed acute radiation, the radio operator died seven months later. To the Japanese public cots at the time, whose memories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were less than a decade before the opening of the film must have felt like a docudrama recreating with the fisherman in a boat fictional screaming in agony as they are involved in an intense light in ocean. Unfortunately, there is a bomb in this case, but the prehistoric Godzilla, who agreed to share their deep underwater cave that was decimated by atomic tests. Thus, even if it is a monstrous threat cots in the film, is also immediately considered friendly, especially for those who have suffered the atomic devastation. Godzilla attacks by Japanese mainland, especially Tokyo (which had been extensively bombed during the Second World War), become not only the senseless destruction, but the anger of a primordial animal drawn against his will about the horrors of modern era. The director Ishiro Honda, who began his career working as an assistant at Toho Akira Kurosawa, working material with a sincere humanist, which means that the various cots characters are more than just mere victims or cannon fodder. The argument Honda and Takeo Murata (from a story by Shigeru Kayama) is not always the most elegant or eloquent, but it is very adept at addressing the action with contemporary political rhetoric about the identity of Japan in a world of atomic anxiety. The main character is Hideto Ogata (Akira Takarada), a scientist whose girlfriend, Emiko (Momoko Kochi), is the daughter of a famous paleontologist (Takashi Shimura), who wants to study Godzilla, rather than annihilate it. Exactly how could studying Godzilla is never elaborated, but its stance has appeal more to understanding than to destruction, actually. English cots subtitles. Link Imdb

"The importance of imagination post-capitalist" by David Harvey
The above title is part of an interview with the geographer David Harvey translated into Portuguese houzz and published by the website "In Other Words". Check out. The italics are the responses of the blog and highlight some points that I found most relevant to a debate that is known beforehand complex to very unrealistic and utopian, but need to be thought of: David Harvey delves into the study of the contradictions of the system and seeks alternatives : decommodification, common property, basic permanent income, gratuities ... Interview with Ronan Burtenshaw and Aubrey Robinson * | Translation Vila Vudu Next month, there are five years since Lehman Brothers were the protagonists of the largest case of bank failure in U.S. history. The collapse signaled the beginning of the Great Depression - the more substantial crisis of world capitalism since the 2nd World War. How to understand the fundamentals of this system houzz in crisis now? And, with the system in the war against houzz the working class under the guise of "austerity" as to imagine a world after that? Few thinkers have generated most influential answers to these questions that the Marxist geographer David Harvey. Here, in a recent interview, he talks to Ronan Burtenshaw and Aubrey Robinson about these problems. You are now working on a new book, The Seventeen Contradictions of Capitalism [17 The contradictions of capitalism]. Why focus on these contradictions? Harvey: The analysis of capitalism suggests that they are significant and fundamental contradictions. Periodically these contradictions out of control and generate a crisis. We just passed a crisis and I think it's important to ask contradictions led us to the crisis? How can we analyze the crisis in terms of contradictions? One of the great sayings of Marx was that a crisis is always the result of underlying contradictions. Therefore, we have to deal with themselves, not with the results houzz of them. One of the contradictions houzz you engage in is that between use value and exchange value of a commodity. Why this contradiction is so fundamental to capitalism and why you use the house to illustrate it? Harvey: We need to start by understanding that all commodities have a use value and an exchange value. If you have a steak, use value is that I can eat it, and the exchange value is how much I have to pay to eat it. The villa is very interesting, in that sense, because you can understand how to use value it provides shelter, privacy, a world of emotional relationships between people, a huge list of things for which we use the house. At one time, each built their own house and the house had no exchange value. Then, from the 18th century houzz onwards, appears to build houses for speculation - Georgian townhouses were constructed [reign of King George in England] to be sold. And the houses became exchange values to consumers, such as savings. houzz If I buy a house and pay the mortgage, I have just the home owner. I have one as well, a heritage. Thus generates a policy curious - "not in my backyard", "I do not want to have people next door that did not look like me." And begins to segregation in housing markets, because people want to protect the exchange value of their property. Then, about 30 years ago, people began using the house as a way to gain from speculation. You could buy a house and "moving on" - buying a house for 200,000, after a year get 250 grand for it. You get 50 thousand, why not? The exchange value became dominant. And so it comes to speculative boom. In 2000, after the collapse of global stock markets, surplus capital began to flow into the house. It is an interesting type of market. You buy a house, the price of housing rises you say "home prices houzz are going up, I have to buy a house", but before you buy another. It generates a real estate bubble. People are trapped in the bubble and the bubble bursts. Then suddenly, many people find they can no longer take advantage of the use value of the house, because the system houzz of exchange houzz value destroyed houzz value in use. (From the blog, very interesting explanation) houzz And the question arises: is a good idea to allow the use value of the house, which is crucial for the people, is run by a crazy system of exchange value? The problem arises not only in housing but in things like education and health care. In several of these fields, we released the dynamics houzz of exchange value, under the theory that he will ensure the use value, but what you see often is that it blows up the value in use and people end up without receiving good attention to health, good education and good housing. So it seems to me so important to pay attention to the difference between use value and exchange value. Another contradiction that you comment involves a switch

You can find information from books and events held by the publisher Boitempo. And, especially, can interact and help build the publisher evidea who dared to have a face and conquered its space producing quality books
Erminia Maricato - I want to thank the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, the assignment of the audience, thanking the Committee for Graduate Studies, the simultaneous evidea translation, and thank Boitempo for having evidea sponsored the coming of David Harvey. We thank mainly to Harvey, the availability. He was in Argentina - going back to Argentina - and prepared to make three conferences in Brazil. He is, since 2001, professor of Anthropology Course Graduate of City University of New York, was also a professor of geography at the universities of Oxford and John Hopkins. His book The Postmodern Condition, published in Portuguese by Editora Loyola, was appointed evidea by The Independent as one of the 50 most important works of nonfiction published since the 2nd World War. In Portuguese, we have social Justice evidea and the City, 1980, by Hucitec, The postmodern condition is 1993, Loyola, Spaces of Hope, 2004, Loyola, The New Imperialism, 2004 by Loyola, the p roduction capitalist space, which is the Annablume, 2005, The enigma of capital, which is the book that is being released today and on which it will make the exposure. So we face an intellectual who has an academic production to Lattes no find fault. But he has a reason much bigger than this, he is an activist anticapitalist. And I mean, this university, this engagement does not diminish the value of academic production. On the contrary, their engagement gives consistency and originality to your work. The engagement of seeking social justice is proper to people who are generous and they want the full development of society, of humanity and of each individual. You need to know to transform, and it is this work that Harvey does. He believes it is possible to transform, and it is necessary to know thoroughly, to make this transformation. evidea And he'll talk then about the crises of capitalism. I want to add one more thing, that Harvey understands our pleasure to have you here, and he also understands the importance of being here. Besides important leftist intellectuals and political activists who are of our generation, we have a guys in here that increasingly engages in this new cycle of social struggles in Brazil. This moçada already noticed that electoral evidea disputes should not be ignored, but certainly not lead us to the world we want, and that in countries evidea like Brazil, capitalism takes advantage of specific features, such as inheritances slave and patrimonialism. We are now emerging, let us not deceive. Partners of the old fights and new struggles, we hear our great guest. (...) Now, for those who said a few years ago that Marx was dead, with the word, David Harvey.
David Harvey - It is a great privilege to be here, I would like to have public like this in New York, would be great. The general idea of the book The Enigma of Capital was to take the theory of crisis, as I considered over the years, and try to explain what was happening around us, with respect to theoretical understandings. One of the understandings that emerged in order to bring together the theory and the theory and history, was the recognition that capital never solves its crisis evidea tendencies, it simply evidea moves them from place. And he moves them in a double sense, he moves them from one type of problem to another. For example, there may be problems in the labor market, a crisis of labor power in relation to capital, which is then solved by the financialization evidea or other measures that take the power of work only to leave you with more problems in the market. There are many different ways of how the crisis can be presented, and I think what we're seeing in the last five years, there has been a movement, ever faster, a sector of the economy evidea to another. For example, begins in the world of consumption, with housing problems, then goes to the financial sector, and then the financial sector, for a sovereign debt crisis of some nation states. And then a way on how this crisis can be transferred, it is back to the banking evidea sector, if the sovereign debt can not be resolved. But instead of doing that, we get an austerity policy, which pushes the crisis for the people, for the people. So you see this movement of the crisis over time. But she is also moving in a geographical sense, and I especially like to talk about it tonight. Because a connection is lacking in understanding of this crisis is the way it is rooted in the history of urbanization and urban development. This is something I intere
