If you're a designer who wants to show your customer how your room would be using a totally different style of furniture and decorations, you can do so in several ways. One way is to show sample images similar to the ones you are considering furniture. Or you could sketch the designs on paper. Another good approach is to use textured 3D models that you put into a scene and rendere as a series of images taken from different angles, in the living room. Vue Infinite is used, but many other 3D programs could do the same thing.
Difficulty: Moderate Instructions Go to Daz3D or Renderosity and download the furniture and other props that you need for the scene. You may have to purchase ik these items on the market, but you can find what you need at one of these sites free areas. Make sure that the items are in a format that will import into Vue Infinite, such as 3DS or Wavefront OBJ. Consult the documentation that came with your copy of Vue Infinite know what formats your version supports. Save items in a folder ik titled "Furniture". Carries a number of textures you would like to use for the walls and floor of the room. You can also get these textures from sites like Renderosity. Save these textures in a folder called "Textures". Open Vue Infinite. Click the "Primitives" tab and select the "cube". Use the guide "Scale" side of the cube to resize it to form a wall. Click "Material Editor" in the upper right corner. Select the "Color" tab and click the "Load" button to import a texture to apply to the wall. Navigate ik to one of the folder ik "textures" that you want to use. Change the "mapping" to "parametric object." Adjust size parameters according to the size of the wall. For example, you do not want your fireplace wall to be composed of six giant bricks, then in that case, change the scale so that there are more bricks in a realistic size. Use the same method used in step 3 to create the other walls, floors and other structures necessary to represent the room.
