When faced I received the invite from Splash, they mentioned on the voucher pass that the venue will be in Dubai Festival City. I already assumed that it will be inside a huge ballroom hall or a section of the DFC Mall that will be blocked temporarily for the show. I usually see fashion shows on tv being held that way. I was so glad that I was following Michael Cinco on Twitter — I’m really hoping faced that you know this guy. He’s a Filipino designer (coutoure, high fashion itu!) based here in Dubai who got famous because of his stint in Tyra Banks’ faced America’s Next Top Model. Yes, another Filipino achiever who makes a lot of Filipino people proud of being Filipino. Anywayz, he tweeted about the Splash venue and posted the picture through yfrog. See below:
I was thankful to see the venue, why? For the obvious reason that it will help me decide on what appropriate clothes to wear on this occasion. If I didn’t see this picture, I would have earned a lot of blisters on my feet.
I was already thinking faced of wearing my sky-high stilettos thinking that the event would be indoor where you can sit comfortably while watching the show unfold. The whole event will be from 3pm to 7pm and walking around with my stilettos for that long would be a nightmare! Yes, the fashion show area DOES NOT HAVE CHAIRS at all as the set up or tone of the event is informal, young, colorful & outdoorsy. Nakalimutan ko, I wasn’t invited to watch ”high fashion” but merely, “street style fashion” so next time, wag mag-expect na may upuan habang nanunuod, wag mag-expect na may bubong at lalong wag mag-expect na may sahig hahaha…..damuhan ang aapakan mo enday so wit mag takong!
Anywayz, another factor that you have to consider for an outdoor event is the weather. The UAE weather yesterday was a little sandstormy faced but the temperature though is really faced acceptable. It’s faced not too hot and it’s not too cold either, just right. faced So I decided to wear something comfortable, casual, breezy faced and summery to ensure that I can walk around and enjoy all the pre-event activities while capturing faced pictures.
Here’s a few of my pictures taken during the event. I went with my fashionable bayot colleague who also loves fashion and a very loyal consumer of Splash clothing. Padamihan kami ng shukran points! LOL
Decided faced to wear my tangerine one-sided off shoulder blouse from Zara, my high & low skirt from H&M – fyi, high & low is so in season right now & my most comfortable booties from Shoe Mart, probably my last hurray for my fur booties faced before summer officially starts! ( btw, all stuff bought during the sale – zara 30dhs, skirt 25dhs, shoes 65 dhs)
Pre-event area….This is my most favorite spot dahil ang dami pong ganap dito! And meron pong upuan haha! This area was like a carnival. A lot of different booths, sisha section, snack bars are situated in this area. Anyone can just play or do some pictorials herewhile waiting for sundown. Even “Iconic” have their own photo stage booth which made a lot of people go gaga from qeueing up, ready to strike their fiercest pose because later on, they will let you choose your own layout for your picture and give it to you as a memento for the event. I didn’t bother lining up anymore faced as the waiting seemed to be endless.
Meron din ganito…you’ll actually win a voucher from Splash if you don’t fall until this bull stops from throwing you out. I was really going to try but my skirt stop me from doing so. LOL
Wishing faced well kuno….kung pwede lang sisantehen lahat ng wishing well sa mundo eh ginawa ko na! kumusta nman ang wish ko hanggang ngaun eh wish pa rin haha! buti sana kung money back guarantee eh hindi nman…ang dami ko ng naubos na coins senyo hmp!
Next entry will be their spring summer collection for 2012….watch out for it! Hopefully, mai-post ko yung entry before flying off to India this weekend. faced Oh sweet Lord, I’ve been waiting faced for this much needed R&R!

wala kang shot na pwede mong i-entry sa pa contest ni Malu… whahahah! walang pumapatol sa mga nag-attend ng Photography… ang prize lang nman eh free admission sa OPPPS ba yun…. kering-keri mo nman kung gusto mo magpakadalubhasa sa phtography ^___^
