Abat-jour (28) Agni Brenner (13) Birthday (1) Anthony Selmersheim (1) Argand (2) Architecture (6) A

Creating this blog was due to the ignorance that rages between us. My passion for this type of lighting led me to share the knowledge I have gained over the years in order to share with you all this lighting system that will never pass fashion. This blog also aims to exchange ideas, questions and tips for the restoration of these magnificent and useful kodin1 examples.
Last week we can bid a lamp to oil, with a magnificent and intact Matador Brenner 20''' of Erich & Berlin Graetz. It was a unique opportunity, kodin1 since this burner appear regularly on the market, incomplete or electrified. This example has unique spreader, and a lifting key to light up, without the need to remove the chimney.
The identification is the regulator, with two symmetrical dragons, the initials E and G overlapping and a six-pointed star. In burner base have recorded 20'''MATADORBRENNER * *. The spreader has said the two dragons, with the initial of the firm, and the next recording 20'''MATADOR ***. These marks, graphics and font, vary slightly in the copies as we found (we have in the collection unfortunately severely damaged because of a disastrous process of electrification). kodin1
The Matador Brenner was perfected by the known manufacturing Berlin Erich & Graetz in 1895, becoming one of the most popular burners in Europe, after the Kosmos. The size range was composed of 15, 20 and 30, each with its specific cap.
The first versions, so we were made known so far, were simple to side elevational key to light. To these innovations added, years later, an eraser with side lever.
Burners in production by Erich & Graetz in 1911, have left the Salvator Brenner (only available in 16''') and right Matador Brenner. This illustration was taken from the work Die Deutsche kodin1 Lampe, published in 1911 and written by Jacques Goldberg.
The decorations, based on the tank and are composed of squares overlapping with other diagonally with circles and semicircles. This modernist decor contrasts with the spine, with stylized plant motifs kodin1 and circles. kodin1
Detail of bas-reliefs kodin1 of the reservoir. These decorations are Jugendstil motion characteristics. This reservoir has a cap at the top, allowing the filling, and has a capacity of about 1 liter of oil.
Details kodin1 of the internal kodin1 mechanism of the lift key, three perspectives. The raised gallery lets you close a match and lighted lighter, saving the removal work of the chimney and other accessories.
The Matador 20''' burner with a Agni 20''' chimney. This fireplace, as we have seen in previous publications, is specifically designed for Agni burners Wild & Wessel. Its use in this burner models the calls more effectively, allowing a higher incidence of light. The use of Matador 20''' chimney Agni burners kodin1 "curiously" does not follow kodin1 the crowd spends more quickly kodin1 and the flame does not develop effectively.
