Topcare Most people with Korsakoff must be controlled much and are often reminded of everyday items, such as food and drink, and activities within the HMOs. Often find clients uwo owl are uncomfortable with it to be reminded by coaches because uwo owl they will be confronted with the fact that they forget things and can not themselves in hand their lives.
From the HBO Master uwo owl Healthcare & Social Work, an occupational therapist has a graduate research conducted within two Korsakov departments at Atlant Care Group. The aim was to investigate whether a picture watch as external reminders might be a good way to give people more control over their own lives. The picture uwo owl watch is on the market since 2012, but has not yet been used so far in people with Korsakov. Research design
First the therapist on which of the inhabitants of the two-Korsakov departments for investigation were eligible according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. For example, uwo owl one resident had a minimum number of years living with Atlant, diagnosis Korsakov had been established and the residents served at least once a week to forget an activity. A group of 22 residents met these criteria. These 22 people uwo owl were allowed to decide whether they wanted to participate in the study or not. A group of 20 residents remained.
During the measurement, the residents are observed without using a picture watch. Then the therapist together with the escorts per inhabitant watched what the daily routine is and at what times forget uwo owl to do things the occupant. The supervisors could then set via the computer per resident that if an activity had to be done, the resident uwo owl heard a beep on the watch, followed by a vibrator and a description of the activity on the screen. The resident had at that time need no memory of a companion. Views was whether the client took the initiative to launch the activity. This quantitative study lasted 8 weeks. A qualitative study session with the residential counselors and lead carers (ETUC) of the 20 participating residents will follow. Herein are the views and experiences mapped with the image watch. Outcomes research
The results of the quantitative research should be analyzed yet. The qualitative group session has yet to take place. However, the first sounds are positive. So wanted a lady no longer return the watch after completion of the investigation. She liked to have their own control and not having to be reminded for example, a choir rehearsal. To use the picture watch she always had to be reminded of the rehearsal and retrieved. The picture uwo owl watch is also easy to program by supervisors. Topcare approach
